Pakistani Crypto Minister Advocates for Technology and Youth at UN General Assembly
At the 80th anniversary of the United Nations General Assembly in New York, Pakistan's Minister of State for crypto and Blockchain, Bilal Bin Saqib, emphasized the critical role of technology in driving sustainable development for the Global South. Speaking at high-level side events on Social Business, Youth, and Technology, as well as AI Capacity Building, Saqib positioned digital tools as essential for economic survival—not speculative luxuries.
Millions of young Pakistanis already leverage blockchain-enabled solutions for remittances and micro-enterprises, reflecting grassroots adoption out of necessity. The challenge lies in scaling these organic innovations into transparent, accountable systems. During the AI forum, Saqib extended this thesis, framing emerging technologies as levers for equitable progress when coupled with institutional support.
